UN To Post More Troops In Congo

The UN has unanimously voted in agreement to send an additional 3,000 troops to the stricken African country. The Democratic Republic of Congo has been spiralling further into a deep humanitarian crisis over the course of several weeks, due to civilians displaced by the eruption of violence between the Congolese army and Tutsi rebels.

DR Congo Camps Burned

Not a great debut post but in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where rebel fighting has been progressing for the past few days, the UN has reported camps housing around 50,000 displaced people have been burned to the ground. Full report on the BBC.
