McDonald’s Sued Over Nude Photos

McDonalds has been sued by Arkansas residents Philip and Tina Sherman after nude photos of the latter, held on her husband’s mobile phone, ended up on the internet after the phone was left in a local branch of McDonald’s. Employees from the branch had said they would secure the phone until Mr Sherman could come and pick it up but the photos appeared online accompanied by personal details of Mrs Sherman.

The family claim they had to move after being harassed and receiving a number of presumably lewd and offensive phone calls and text messages about the pictures. They are suing the fast food giant for $3m over the incident, claiming loss of earnings.

Tough one this because I will admit to hating McDonald’s with a passion, a personal hatred sparked by a half-cooked burger eaten a few years ago. However, I think a great deal of proof on exactly how the pictures appeared online will be needed before any real judgement has been made. The moral? Never leave a phone filled with nude pictures of your wife/partner in a McDonald’s. Or, don’t eat at McDonald’s, period.
