Sun Turns To Open Source
Sun Microsystems who recently had to lay off around 6,000 staff are now turning their attention to the open source domain. I’m not sure how much choice they will have had in this decision and when you consider that while most companies that embrace open source are not doing so to initially make money. For Sun to suddenly switch to a business model that takes some time to turn around and make profitable seems like a very desperate move.
